Peanut Butter Toast with a Fancy Topping

I invented a recipe yesterday. I made some peanut butter toast using a slice of whole wheat bread and Skippy's limited edition salted caramel peanut butter (it's not very sweet by itself).

After I toasted it I sprinkled on some dried cranberries (Craisins), some chocolate chips, and some Fruit & Oats Chex Clusters cereal (it's better if you use the clusters at the bottom of the bag). Here is the end result:

I wasn't sure how the cranberries and peanut butter would mix but it was really yummy!

  1. Huge yums!!! That looks so delicious! For a while, let's say two to three years ago, up here in Canada Kraft has a short lived variety of peanut butter that included dried cranberries in it. It was was absolute favourite product of theirs at the time, but alas, I guess not as many people loved it, as they pulled it quite quickly. Seeing this has inspired me to try making a version of my own (we don't have that cereal here, but dried cranberries themselves are quite easy to find). Thank you!

    1. That peanut butter sounds really interesting! You could use any kind of crunchy cereal and it would probably taste the same. The Chex just gave it a little extra fruit flavor.

My aunt and uncle visited Nova Scotia once and brought us back maple flakes. They were so good! I bet they would be good on pb toast with chocolate chips and pecans...
