James Stevenson Books

Growing up, one of my brothers and I favorite books was Monty by James Stevenson. My mom would read it aloud and we loved the way she made Monty talk.

1979

There is also I sequel, which I have yet to find.

Recently I discovered one of Stevenson's autobiographical books, Don't You Know There's a War On? Since I love WWII and stories of the Home Front, this book was right up my alley. Of course, then I had to check out his others:

1986

1987

1990

1992

1994

1995

(about his daughter)
1996

I love the simple, storytelling style he uses, and the simple illustrations complement the text perfectly.
